Superfan is the alter ego of Kali Priya Flanagan, a Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist and producer. Originally conceived as a solo project, the ambitious string arrangements developed in collaboration with cellist Omeed Almassi have grown into a defining element of Superfan’s buzzing and magnetic pop sound. Kali cites albums such as '1996' by Ryuichi Sakamoto, 'Parasol' by The Sea and Cake, 'The Greatest' by Cat Power, 'Trust' by Low, and 'Hvarf/Heim' by Sigur Rós as major sources of inspiration, alongside the vocal styles of Elizabeth Fraser, Beth Gibbons, Rufus Wainwright, and Harriet Wheeler of The Sundays. The American songwriter performs at Cinetol. $33
