Sentaku was never meant to fit into a defined space. Born between London nights and long conversations, the label emerged as an extension of those behind it, a reflection of instinct, curiosity and the desire to build something that could hold meaning beyond the music itself. What started as an inner process gradually developed into a living structure, shaped through time, mistakes, friendships and a constant search for alignment. At its core, Sentaku is about connection: not necessarily the visible kind, but the one that forms in the dark between bodies, frequencies and shared moments that do not need to be explained. It resists categorisation and moves freely across genres, guided instead by tension, depth and emotional resonance. The project was built around its core creators Massäï, Josh Rawl and Jane, whose work and ideas helped shape Sentaku’s identity from its early years, with Jane playing a central role in developing the label’s visual language as its former graphic designer. Around them, a wider family has gradually taken shape. Massäï, Ill Spleen and Lamalice form the label’s resident artists, each bringing their own musical language while contributing to the collective identity of Sentaku. More than a record label or a series of events, Sentaku exists as a collective pulse: a family of artists and collaborators brought together by trust, evolving together, questioning and refining, always in motion. The dancefloor remains at the centre of it all. Not as a stage, but as a space of balance, where sound, light and presence can merge into something greater than the sum of their parts: a place to lose structure, reconnect and feel. Sentaku is not fixed. It grows, shifts, dissolves and rebuilds, carried by those who step into it and those who shape it from within.
