The Kraków Meridian is one of the world's oldest zero/base meridians, first used in 1379 and later employed by Copernicus in his calculations. It marks the location of Kraków's historic astronomical observatory, founded in 1792, from which Poland's time signal was once broadcast and where meteorological observations have continued uninterrupted since the same year.
