Uprooted: (Ontworteld) is a series by Splendormusicus River Adomeit that gives roots and folk music a new twist. The second edition is dedicated to the "High Priestess of Soul and icon of the jazz tradition: Nina Simone!" High Priestess of Soul Nina Simone, known as The High Priestess of Soul, was a singer, pianist, songwriter, and civil rights activist. Although she was primarily known as a jazz singer, she combined styles such as gospel, blues, folk, pop, and classical music in her music. No other popular singer was as closely connected to the civil rights movement as Simone. These two American Splendormusici perform some of her most iconic, but also lesser-known songs: Claron McFadden - vocals River Adomeit - double bass
