Seit 2023 folgen sie den Lebensstationen der Künstlerin von ihrem Geburtsort Borgo Valsugana im heutigen Trentino über Wien und Salzburg bis nach New York , wo Klien ab 1929 lebte. Looking for E.G.K. gibt Einblicke in Kliens Lebens- und Rezeptionsgeschichte wie auch in die abenteuerliche Wiederentdeckung ihres Œuvres und verwebt diese mit aktuellen Forschungsergebnissen zu einem informativen wie kurzweiligen Porträt der Künstlerin. Anschließend an die Vorpremiere findet ein Gespräch mit den Filmemacher*innen in englischer Sprache statt. Elena Goatelli and Angel Esteban explore the eventful life and work of Erika Giovanna Klien in their research -based film Looking for E.G.K.. Since 2023 they have been tracing the artist ’s life from her birthplace Borgo Valsugana, in modern-day Trentino, to Vienna and Salzburg and then New York where she moved in 1929. Looking for E.G.K. offers insights into Klien’s life and the reception of her work, as well as into the adventurous rediscovery of her oeuvre, intertwining this with the latest research to produce an informative and engaging portrait of the artist .
