Or the other way around: if the family of Townes van Zandt had never left the Zaanstreek? In short: what happens when cabaret meets the deep south of America? Chansons between the Jordaan and the Mississippi. With new songs and timeless classics. And with a rock-solid band. In De Kleine Komedie. Maarten Heijmans & Xander Vrienten Gouden Kalf winner Maarten Heijmans and bassist Xander Vrienten are finding out. They share a love for the music of the American South. Blues, folk and jazz.
