As part of our regular lunchtime lecture series, join curator Max Donnelly to discover more about William Morris, his daughter May, and their lifelong relationships with the V&A. This talk will reveal how, following William Morris’s death in 1896, May continued to promote his reputation as one of the driving forces behind the Arts and Crafts movement of which she was also a luminary. This culminated in her decision to bequeath to the V&A a significant legacy including designs and objects designed by herself and her father. This event is free and not ticketed. Please meet in the Lydia and Manfred Gorvy Lecture Theatre in V&A South Kensington. October 12th – 16th is the V&A’s Legacy Week! Discover how gifts in wills make a lasting impact at the V&A and how you could share your love for our family of museums by leaving a gift in your Will. For more information, please contact our Legacy Team at legacy@vam.ac.uk or by phone at +44 20 7942 2716.
