SUMMARY:Jugaad: Absolute Improvisation Printed Matter Fair
DESCRIPTION:United under the spirit of D-I-Y (do it yourself)\, the fair
brings together independent artist books\, zines\, prints\, and other sm
all formats from 20 local and international artists. The event is co-cur
ated by Mama Magnet and South Asian Contemporary Art Amsterdam to honour
resourceful and humorous instances of improvisation and everyday intell
igence.\n\nAbout Jugaad Jugaad is more than a word. It's an act of being
\, doing and surviving that South Asians grow up with. Today\, the word
sits in the Oxford English Dictionary and is recognised far beyond its P
unjabi and Sanskrit origins\, naming an everyday intelligence of getting
by and getting it done. The selected artists and makers trace how jugaa
di thinking has travelled beyond South Asia\, into other cultures\, refl
exes and languages\, reimagining what it can mean and where it can go. U
nited under the spirit of D-I-Y (do it yourself)\, the fair \n\nhttps://
