The Dohány Street Synagogue, opened in 1859 in the heart of Budapest's Jewish quarter, is the home of the Neolog Jewish community and one of the largest and best-known synagogues in the world. Its grounds also include a cemetery, the Heroes' Temple, the Emanuel Memorial Park and the Holocaust Memorial Park, making it both a place of worship and a significant historical site.
