This ticket is for IN-HOUSE access to this event. ________________________________________________________________________ The Freud Museum is delighted to welcome Salman Akhtar and Mary Kay O’Neil to discuss their edited volume, Anxiety: Clarification, Critique and Update. They will be joined in their discussion by the Freud Museum’s Research Manager and book contributor Tom DeRose. The evening will begin with a presentation by Tom DeRose on Freud’s changing views on anxiety, considering the 100-year anniversary of the publication of Inhibitions, Symptoms and Anxiety. Then Salman Akhtar will discuss the distinctions between different types of anxiety and their relations to fears and phobias. Finally, Mary Kay O’Neil will discuss the theme of the professional anxieties of analysts. There will be opportunities for audience questions and discussion throughout the event. Thus, the study of anxiety is, in effect, the study of psychoanalysis itself.
