Journey into deep space and experience the wonder of the universe through breathtaking cinema and the full force of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The evening begins with Grammy® Award-winning composer Eric Whitacre’s Deep Field , inspired by one of the Hubble Space Telescope’s most extraordinary discoveries. Whitacre’s atmospheric music is accompanied by Deep Field: The Impossible Magnitude of Our Universe , bringing Hubble’s awe-inspiring images of distant galaxies to the big screen through spectacular bespoke animations. Then, travel from the furthest reaches of space to the surface of the moon with The Moonwalkers . Narrated and co-written by Tom Hanks, the film looks back at humanity’s first journeys to the Moon and ahead to a new era of lunar exploration through NASA’s Artemis programme. For the first time, audiences can experience Anne Nikitin’s original score to The Moonwalkers performed live in concert by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Featuring original NASA footage, Andy Saunders’ remarkable Apollo Remastered images, interviews with Artemis astronauts and narration by Tom Hanks, this specially curated cinematic experience brings together music, science and exploration on an epic scale. The Moonwalkers is narrated on film by Tom Hanks, written by Tom Hanks and Christopher Riley, with an original score by Anne Nikitin, and created by Lightroom. Directed and designed by 59, a Journey Studio. In association with ESK live.
