About

The City of Bratislava annually continues the long-standing tradition of presenting and tasting young wine and follows on from the St. Martin's Days organized in the past. The feast of St. Martin has been associated with the winemaking tradition since the times of Austria-Hungary. On 11 November, not only here but also in neighboring Czechia and Austria, the first wines of this year’s harvest are opened. According to an old tradition, the young wines are blessed on the first day of the festival by the Archbishop of Bratislava in the Chapel of St. Ladislaus in the Primatial Palace. The festival features young wines from winemakers from Bratislava winemaking associations and other Bratislava wineries. At the Young Wine Festival, you can look forward not only to wine markets but also to gastro specialties and a rich program, quizzes and competitions on the theme of winemaking, talks about viticulture, concerts. Every year, the popular Date with the City is also part of the festival. We look forward to seeing you in 2026.
