Join us for an inspiring afternoon at **Huis Marseille, Museum for Photography**, Amsterdam's first photography museum. Huis Marseille is housed in **two beautiful 17th-century canal houses** on the Keizersgracht, where historic architecture and contemporary photography come together. The museum also has a tranquil canal garden, library and specialized photography bookshop. 📸🏛️🌿 https://huismarseille.nl/en/ *** ### 📅 Date **Sunday, October 18, 2026** ### ⏰ Meeting Time **2:00 PM** ### 📍 Meeting Point **Huis Marseille, Museum for Photography** **Keizersgracht 401** **1016 EK Amsterdam** **The Netherlands** We will meet at the museum entrance at **2:00 PM**. *** ### 📸 Current Exhibition: *Wunderkind* — Martine Gutierrez **27 June – 18 October 2026** This is the **final day** of Martine Gutierrez's *Wunderkind* exhibition, so October 18 is a great opportunity to see it before it closes. ✨ Gutierrez's work explores **identity, beauty, gender, representation and popular culture** through carefully constructed photographic images. Her photographs often play with fashion, performance and self-representation, creating a fascinating space between reality and fiction. The exhibition presents her work across the historic rooms of Huis Marseille, creating an interesting dialogue between contemporary photography and the character of the 17th-century canal houses. 📸🏛️ The museum's programme describes Gutierrez's work as part of its focus on contemporary photography and living photographers. *** ### 🏡 More Than a Photography Museum One of the special things about Huis Marseille is the building itself. The museum occupies **two historic canal houses**, with many original architectural details still preserved, including ornate ceilings, stucco work, marble elements and a beautiful period room. There is also a peaceful **canal garden** where you can take a moment to relax after viewing the exhibitions. 🌿☕ *** ### 🎟️ Tickets **Regular admission: €12.50** **Museumkaart: Free** 🎫✨ Museumkaart holders do **not** need to reserve an online ticket and can simply show their valid Museumkaart at the reception. One entrance ticket gives access to the exhibitions in **both historic canal houses**, as well as the library and garden. *** ### 🕰️ Opening Hours **Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM** Our Meetup starts at **2:00 PM**, giving us plenty of time to explore the museum during the afternoon. Everyone is welcome to explore the exhibitions at their own pace. *** ### ☕ After the Museum Huis Marseille does not have a café, but there is a small coffee machine where visitors can enjoy a hot drink in the museum or canal garden. Afterwards, we can optionally go for a **coffee, drink or something to eat in the nearby Nine Streets area**. ☕🍷🍰 *** ### 🚆 Getting There Huis Marseille is easily accessible by public transport. From Amsterdam Central Station, take **tram 2, 17 or 24** and get off at **Keizersgracht**, followed by a short walk. Alternatively, take **metro 52** to Rokin and walk approximately 8 minutes. Please make your own transportation arrangements to and from the museum. *** ### 📝 Meetup Conditions Please only sign up if you intend to attend.
