Regie: Lukas Dhont. After Girl (2018) and Close (2022), comes the third film by Belgian director Lukas Dhont . Coward (2026) is set during the First World War and follows the story of Pierre (Emmanuel Macchia), a young farmer who wants to prove himself at the front, and Francis (Valentin Campagne), the son of a tailor who has been tasked with keeping the morale and motivation of the troops high. A moving story about how art can temporarily shield people from the cold reality and how love can blossom in the most brutal circumstances and in the most unexpected places. Beautiful when intended, poignant when necessary. Dhont was inspired to make the film after seeing photos of young soldiers per. Voorstellingen Filmtheater Kriterion: 21:45 (NL,FR, ond. EN).
