Join us Sunday November 8th for a special PRE-RELEASE intimate listening session of Otis Mensah’s upcoming album, a contemporary experimental sonata bending classical-form with inspirited verses over ballads of piano, saxophone and acoustic instruments alike across seven movements. This is for those who care for intimate and intentional listening and hold an endearment for craft, the magic and imperfection of the voice, and both the pageantry and minimalism of free-form jazz. The album features profound artists such as Stones Throws’ Georgia Ann Muldrow, Brownswood Recordings’ Marysia Osu, Wooly Aziz, LIE NING and Regis Molina. This vinyl entitled “Come Beautify The Night” will be available later in November on boutique Paris/London label First Terrace Records and marks a seminal evolution in Otis’ creative practice as their compositional debut. Otis’ music has always been about intimacy, amidst contorted lines of artificiality and isolation, they envision the works as a returning to nature, referring to the sonic property of every cadence and verse as an instrument in its own right.
