St. Michael's Rock (Végvári Rock)

Upper Triassic sedimentary hornstone (flint). Homogeneous, waxy-greasy luster, conchoidal fracture. Its name recalls Ottoman-era border fortress battles: the heroic fight of Petneházy and Lieutenant Colonel Count Girolamo Lodron.
