This district museum in Józsefváros collects and presents the history of the neighborhood through objects and stories gathered largely from local residents. Its first permanent exhibition, 'Józsefváros Universe,' explores the district's past, familiar landmarks, notable figures and families, as well as vanished buildings, and also shows visitors the behind-the-scenes work of building the collection. It functions as an open community and creative space, still actively collecting objects and memories tied to the district.
