Vienna's oldest district museum, founded in 1923, displays fossils and small archaeological finds from prehistory and Roman times, including the Roman Nymphenstein discovered in Meidling in 1853. Further exhibits cover local crafts, working life, clubs and entertainment venues, plus a dedicated section on folk singer Carl Lorens and piano humorist Hermann Leopoldi.
