The Palmenhaus at Schönbrunn is a historic glass-and-iron greenhouse built in 1881/82, 113 metres long with three pavilions creating different climate zones - a cold house, a temperate house and a tropical house. It is the last and largest surviving palm house of its kind in continental Europe, home to rare plants from around the world.
