This Gothic tower next to Charles Bridge was built in the mid-14th century under Emperor Charles IV, designed by Petr Parléř, and served as a ceremonial gateway for coronation processions of Czech kings. Visitors can climb 138 steps to the gallery for sweeping views over the Vltava and the Old Town.
