Bavaria

The colossal bronze Bavaria statue, cast in 1850 after a design by Ludwig Schwanthaler, stands beside the Ruhmeshalle above the Theresienwiese and is the only large bronze in Germany you can climb inside. A steep spiral staircase leads up through the hollow figure to a small viewing platform in the head, offering a view over the Oktoberfest grounds through several small openings.
