Cuvilliés Theatre

The Cuvilliés-Theater is a Rococo court theatre built in the mid-18th century by architect François Cuvilliés, now used by the Residenztheater as a performance venue and also open as a museum. Its ornate, gold-decorated auditorium, once the setting for Mozart's premiere of Idomeneo, was rebuilt after wartime destruction and remains one of Munich's historic theatre spaces.
