For the third and final edition of Angel Audio’s Music Board funded educational events, we will be collaborating with the local collective Obscithea, putting together a 2 floor party at a private venue in Neukölln. The night starts at 19:00 with a practical soundsystem workshop, and follows with a party focused on textural sounds building worlds in ambient, electronica, trip-hop, and bass, with 14 acts across two floors. The Angel Audio floor has a focus on live acts, with 4 different live performers and DJ sets spread throughout. Obscithea’s floor will be built on ambient, trip-hop, and dub music. WORKSHOP Understanding Live Sound: Basics of Signal Flow, Mixing, and Soundcheck by TAMARR (CTM, WHOLE, Queer Ranch) This workshop will include: - explanation of an audio signal flow; - analogue mixer layout; - participation in the soundcheck for the night where we will talk about the basics of mixing electronic music with vocals. It is essential for every artist / dj / promoter to know how live sound works and understand a sound technician perspective to be able to work together effectively (or be able to fix small things themselves) in this stressful environment that is event production.
