Platform Engineering Vienna - Meetup November 2026

Wird ins Deutsche übersetzt…

Welcome to our Meetup event in November. This time we are at the Gepardec office, big thanks to them for having us and looking forward to seeing all of you! **Agenda**: * Doors open 5:30 p.m. * ***Introduction - 6:00 to 6:15 p.m.*** * ***Talk 1 - 6:15 to 6:45 p.m.*** * **Speaker**: Cleo Winkler * **Title**: Deploy Openbao, make no mistakes * **Abstract**: Agents in infrastructure? That sounds like a security incident. But with the lessons we’ve learned over the past 20 years, we can make it secure, repeatable, and efficient. * **Break - 6:45 to 7:00 p.m.** * ***Talk 2 -* 7:00 *to 7:30 p.m.*** * **Speaker**: Thomas Schuetz * **Title**: Let's build a platform! - A practical guide to Developer Experience * **Abstract:** Whether you're actively building an internal platform or just starting to put the Lego bricks together, we are all chasing the same goal: self-service capabilities that make developing and maintaining AI-driven software as frictionless as possible. Here is the good news: the technical side of platform engineering is mostly a solved problem. The catch? True Developer Experience can't be downloaded. It depends on your organizational culture, your architecture, and the daily habits of your engineering teams. In this session, we’ll cut through the theory. You’ll see how today's ecosystem of platform distributions lets us bootstrap a functional setup in just 20 minutes. More importantly, you'll leave with actionable insights into what truly drives developer experience once the infrastructure is running, and how to adapt it to your team's unique habits. * **Networking** \- start 7:30 p\.m\.
