Public tour in English. When the Mongol horsemen invaded Europe in 1241, they appeared to their victims as creatures from hell. Under Genghis Khan and his successors, they conquered the largest land empire in history. Through laws, the securing of trade routes and postal stations, they created an order that began an intensive exchange of goods and ideas between Asia, Persia and Europe. Discover fascinating archaeological finds that tell of the superiority of nomadic horse warriors, of early globalisation under the Mongol khans, and of the empires of the Turks and Uyghurs who dominated the steppe before them. Participation fee: 6 € plus admission Limited number of participants, online booking recommended.
