About

Join Berlin Ladies Art & Culture Club for a full day of art, conversation, and discovery in Leipzig. We'll spend the day at the Leipziger Baumwollspinnerei, with private gallery introductions, a visit to an artist's studio, and a visit to the Museum der bildenden Künste. Throughout the day, I'll share art-historical context and stories connecting the places we visit, from Leipzig's contemporary art scene to the artists who shaped its history. 📋 The programme 🎨 *Welcome & introduction* We'll begin with introductions and an overview of Leipzig's art scene, setting the context for our day together. 🖼 Gallery visits at the Leipziger Baumwollspinnerei Explore a former cotton mill transformed into a centre for contemporary art. Our curated gallery walk will introduce different artistic voices and the story of the Leipzig School and New Leipzig School. 🖼️ EIGEN \+ ART Leipzig – TITUS SCHADE: SICHT \| FELD Born in Leipzig and trained in Neo Rauch's master class, Titus Schade paints places that look like stage sets and architectural models at once — windmills, towers, rocks and houses lit like a baroque stage. Not reality, but a self-contained world built from its movable pieces. The gallery will introduce the brand-new show to our group. 🖼️ Galerie Laetitia Gorsy – FRANZISKA REINBOTHE & LAURA SACHS: Desire Founded in 2018 by French gallerist Lætitia Gorsy as She BAM!, this is a gallery showing only women artists. Lætitia will introduce Desire, a dialogue between Franziska Reinbothe and Laura Sachs, herself — in English. 🖼️ ASPN – FRANZISKA KOCH: thick of things Before she studied painting at Leipzig's Academy of Visual Arts, Franziska Koch trained as a clinical psychologist. Now based in Leipzig, she works in oil on canvas — come and see what a painter with a therapist's eye brings to the canvas. 👩‍🎨 Studio visit – NORA MONA BACH Winner of the 2024 Art Prize of Saxony-Anhalt, Nora Mona Bach creates large-scale landscapes from loose charcoal dust — some over two metres tall — that shift between the familiar and the unknown. She'll welcome us into her Spinnerei studio, where she also works with pastel and glass. 🍽 Lunch & conversation A break to sit down together, exchange impressions, and enjoy the company of fellow art lovers. 🏛 Museum der bildenden Künste We'll explore selected highlights of the museum's collection together, with art-historical context connecting the museum to the morning's discoveries. 🚶 A little of Leipzig Time permitting, a short walk through the historic centre before returning to Berlin. 📅 Date: Saturday, 7 November 2026 🕐 Duration: Full-day trip, with morning departure and evening return 📍Meeting point:Berlin Hauptbahnhof 💶 Participation fee: €70 per person 📌 RSVP is free and non-binding.
