Real Women is a circle where women come together to explore themselves through the body, reflection, creativity and honest conversation. This month, we will turn our attention towards our relationship with the womb — as a physical part of the body, a place of memory and a symbol of creation. The womb can expand, stretch, hold and nourish. There is something powerful in remembering that this capacity for creation and transformation can be part of our relationship with the body, whether we are mothers or not. We will begin with ceremonial cacao, giving ourselves time to arrive, slow down and connect with ourselves and each other. Through gentle self-massage, breath and a guided meditation, you will be invited to bring attention towards your womb and notice the sensations, emotions, desires or messages that may arise. After the meditation, we will move into journaling and sharing. We will explore what we may be carrying, what our bodies may be asking for and what wants to be created through us. We will also work with colour. Each participant will receive a womb illustration to colour intuitively while listening to calming music and noticing what emerges through the process. From individual creation, we will move into collective creation, making a shared herbal mandala from selected herbs and flowers. You are welcome to join even if you no longer physically have a uterus. Your memories, symbolism and relationship with the womb can still be part of the exploration. You are always free to share as much or as little as feels right. Adri is a somatic practitioner and bodyworker.
