A weekend in London
Two days in London: Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery and the South Bank from the Southbank Centre to Tate Modern and the Globe on Saturday; the British Museum, Covent Garden, Borough Market and the Tower on Sunday.
Both days stay within a few miles of the Thames, so most of it is on foot with a Tube or bus hop where it helps; the big national museums are free. The fixed stops are London landmarks; events in the plan are live listings for this weekend.

Trafalgar Square and the South Bank
Start on Trafalgar Square at the National Gallery (free, go early for the quieter rooms), cross the Thames on the Golden Jubilee footbridge to the Southbank Centre and walk the river path east past Tate Modern to Shakespeare's Globe (book Globe tours and Tate exhibitions ahead); the National Theatre is back along the river for the evening.

Bloomsbury, Covent Garden and the Tower
Spend the morning at the British Museum (free; the Great Court opens at 10) and walk down to Covent Garden Market for lunch, then take the Tube to London Bridge for Borough Market, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge (Tower tickets are cheaper online and sell out on weekends); the Royal Opera House is back in Covent Garden for the evening.

South Kensington
Tri múzeá zadarmo vedľa seba — Natural History, Science a V&A —, Hyde Park a detské ihrisko Diana Memorial pár minút pešo. Pokojné ulice, klasická rodinná základňa.
Bloomsbury a Covent Garden
Na jednej strane Britské múzeum, zelené námestia a kníhkupectvá, na druhej divadlá West Endu, pouliční umelci v Covent Garden a Royal Opera House — najcentrálnejšia základňa pre predstavenia aj pamiatky.
Shoreditch
Street art, nezávislé galérie, nedeľné trhy na Columbia Road a Brick Lane a najživšie bary a kluby východného Londýna; City a Barbican sú pár minút pešo.
